The Starting 5 w/Danny Chau

The Starting 5 is a simple set of five either/or questions.  Guests can answer them however they wish.

Today we’re joined by a writer whose name you’ll see frequently on our GOOD READS list. Danny Chau is part of the Hardwood Paroxysm juggernaut. He writes some interesting things about basketball. In the words of Sam Sneed, “I think you better recognize.”

Chick-fil-A Chick-n Minis or Chick-fil-A Spicy Chicken Biscuit?

Chick-n Minis. Hands down. You won’t find this kind of creativity at other fast food joints, especially for breakfast. This was a great way to make use of their already-awesome nuggets, while creating a flavor profile unlike anything else on their menu. I order them carryout, take them back to my place where I drizzle some Mike’s Hot Honey right on top.

Gheorghe or Yinka?

Yinka. Gheorghe rolled with Billy Crystal and Eminem, but he wasn’t in NBA Jam T.E.

Bobby Flay or Michael Symon?

Firmly opposed to everything Bobby Flay (except for Throwdown, which was charming in its innate arrogance, in how often he lost). Michael Symon takes this. He’s definitely in the Laugh Hall of Fame. Top 50, easy.

Stadium Club or Fleer Metal?

Fleer Metal inspired me to pick up Photoshop when I was 10. I loved the shimmer of the cards. I loved the crazy, convoluted backgrounds. I’m a big fan of abstract art, and I’m almost positive I can attribute all of that to my brother’s card collection.

Bruno Mars or Brüno?

Dammit.
